The reference exchange rate indicated today by the central bank BNR idled at 4.2946 lei per euro, down 0.01 percent versus the previous session, after it waved close to 4.2920 in the first part of the day, in line with the evolution of emergent currencies, NewsIn informs.
The euro was traded for 4.2920 lei at rising bell and then dipped slightly to 4.2905. The national currency lowered to 4.2965 afterwards and at 1:35 p.m. banks were buying an euro with 4.2895 lei and selling it for 4.3005 lei.
In the region, emergent currencies had a similar evolution. The Polish zloty advanced from 4.5920 to 4.5559 over the euro and then slipped to 4.5639, while the Hungarian forint climbed from 307.80 to 301.50 against the single European currency and then declined to 303.40.
The reference exchange rate established by BNR also shows a 0.79 percent rise of the leu versus the U.S. dollar, to 3.1430 lei per dollar, from 3.1679 in the previous session.
The leu started out at 4.2965 over the euro and then rose to 4.29. At 10:30 banks were buying the euro for 4.2885 and selling it for 4.2977 versus the euro.
