BNR set the reference exchange rate at 4.1827 lei per euro yesterday.

The leu rose from 4.1740 to 4.1560 versus the euro at opening bell and then waved between 4.16 and 4.17. At 1:35 p.m. banks were buying an euro with 4.16 lei and selling it for 4.1650 lei.

In the region, the Polish zloty dropped from 4.4164 to 4.4516 versus the euro and stabilized close to 4.44 after 12 a.m. The Hungarian forint lowered from 289.30 to 294 against the single European currency and then increased to 292.

BNR's reference exchange rate also indicates a 1 percent climb of the national currency versus the American dollar, to 3.1323 lei per euro, from 3.1640 in the previous session.
