The leftist coalition PSD+PC picked up 11 seats at the European Parliament (EP) elections on June 7 while the center-right PDL followed by narrow margin with 10 seats, final results of the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) show.
The Liberal Party (PNL) took 5 seats, far-right PRM - 3 seats, the Hungarian minority party UDMR 3 seats and independent Elena Basescu clinched one seat.
Thus, PSD+PC coalition will send Adrian Severin, Rovana Plumb, Ioan Mircea Pascu, Adriana Ticau, Daciana Sarbu, Corina Cretu, Victor Bostinaru, Sabin Cutas, Catalin Ivan, Ioan Enciu and Vasilica Viorica Dancila to Brussels.
The PDL’s MEPs are Theodor Stolojan, Monica Macovei, Traian Ungureanu, Cristian Preda, Marian Jean Marinescu, Iosif Matula, Sebastian Bodu, Petru Luhan, Rares Niculescu and Elena Oana Antonescu.
PNL managed to send Norica Nicolai, Adina Valean, Renate Weber, Ramona Manescu and Cristian Busoi to the European Parliament.
The PRM representatives in the EP will be Corneliu Vadim Tudor, George Becali and Ciprian Claudiu Tanasescu, while UDMR will send Laszlo Tokes, Iuliu Winkler and Sogor Csaba.
PSD+PC got 31.07 percent of the votes at the elections for the Europeans, PDL followed closely with 29.71 percent. PNL ranked third with 14.52 percent, followed by UDMR with 8.92 percent, PRM with 8.65 percent and independent Elena Basescu with 4.22 percent.
