Romania's economy attracted 29 percent less investments in the second quarter versus the same period of last year, to 14 billion lei, following halved investments in equipments, the National Statistics Institute (INS) announced, NewsIn informs.
Investments in new construction works diminished 9.2 percent to 8.16 billion lei, while those with other expenses rose 5.7 percent to 1.29 billion lei.
In the first quarter, investments were slashed by 16.7 percent year-on-year to 27.07 billion lei, as the money pumped in equipments, including means of transportation, reduced 33.5 percent to 10.7 billion lei, and that spent in new construction works slipped 3.2 percent to 14.03 billion lei.
Most investments in the first half went to industry (40.7 percent), trade and services (32.9 percent) and constructions (12.8 percent), while the least were in agriculture, only 4.3 percent, INS showed.
