Mariana Gheorghe, CEO of Petrom, Romania’s largest company said production was at the core of the oil company’s development strategy.
“Oil and gas will remain the backbone of the energy system, despite the alternative energy scenarios”, said Mariana Gheorghe, at the Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum.
The chief executive of Petrom stressed the company’s primary objective was production, the business’ core segment. The head of Petrom has also expressed hopes that the energetic potential of the Black Sea region to be included in the map of oil-rich regions”.
As for the current political situation, Mariana Gheorghe said despite the political tumult, it was too early to speak about a political instability. “Any change of government in a country that needs reforms, such as Romania, affects the private sector, but it remains to be seen to which extent”, Mariana Gheorghe added.
