“Pursuant to the dismissal request filed under registration number 5/E.B./198 dated October 6, 2009, under the provisions set our in Article 19 of Law No 90/2001 regarding the organization and functioning of the Romanian Government and of Ministries under it, the Prime Minister has adopted the following Decision: On the date of entry into force of this Decision, Mr. Marian Hoinaru shall be relieved of all his duties as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs”, reads the document published in the Official Journal of Romania.

Emil Boc appointed Nicolae Giugea as secretary of state at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs, Adrian Duda replacing him at the helm of State Land Department (ADS).

Ministers affiliated to the Social Democratic Party have resigned on October 1 from their government posts, as protest against PM’s decision to reshuffle Minister of Interior Dan Nica. Social-democrat secretaries of state have also joined and submitted their resignations shortly after.
