The benchmark exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania fell 0.03 percent to 4.3005 lei per euro, on a market without significant trading volumes, as the emerging currencies moved into unclear directions, NewsIn informs.
NBR posted an official rate of 4.3017 lei per euro in the previous session.
The national currency inched from 4.2990 to 4.2960 versus the euro after the first transactions and then dropped to 4.3030. At 1:55 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.3030 lei and selling it for 4.3080 lei.
In the region, Hungary's forint traded between 276.32 and 278.47 per euro, while the Polish zloty hovered near 4.2624 - 4.2824 versus euro.
For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate dropped 0.84 percent to 2.9130 lei per dollar, from 2.9376 in the previous session.
