UPC Romania, the second largest cable operator reported the first growth in revenues of the past two years, according to the financial statement of US-based Liberty Global, the parent company of UPC. DTH customer base increased to 161,600 subscribers with 5,800 new additions from June, while internet services had a roughly similar growth, of 5,700 additions to a base of 256,400.

For the fixed-line services UPC has 144,500 subscribers, 4,000 more than in June this year.

At the end of first half this year, UPC reported revenues of €61 million, 19% down from a year-ago period.

In 2008, UPC recorded €100 million loss and a turnover of €137.6 million. The operator’s turnover fell 21.5% from €167.3 million in 2007 to €137.6 million in 2008.
