The Group buys marketing agency BrandsOn

The Group, Romania’s largest communication company, with turnover of €109.8 million in 2008, said it bought field marketing agency BrandsOn, which will join the 14 companies already under its roof.

“We have acquired a solid company, with professionals and impressing portfolio. The takeover reaffirms our commitment to address The Group clients’ needs for integrated communication solutions. We have acquired a 51% portion of BrandsOn, but it will retain its senior management team headed by our partner, Marian Dumitrescu”, said Zoltan Szigeti (photo), chairman of The Group.

BrandsOn operates in applied marketing and field communication since 2003, and since 2008, the company had a turnover of over €5.2 million and a profit above €100,000, according to data published on the website of the Ministry of Finance.

“We are proud to join The Group and I am convinced that the synergies born of this combination as well as the resources added to BrandsOn will turn us into the partner of choice for each customer looking for efficient brand activation campaigns”, said Marian Dumitrescu, managing partner of BrandsOn.

BrandsOn agency will be rebranded in 2010 as Field:star (communication and experiential marketing) and will launch new tools to assess the effectiveness of in-store campaigns, and will introduce new in-and-out-of-store promotion mechanisms.

BrandsOn’s portfolio includes Unilever, Danone, JTI, Coty, Tchibo, Parmalat, Cosmote and other 40 local and international brands.

The projects designed and implemented by BrandsOn include brand activation campaigns at point of sale, consumer-oriented promotions, mystery shopper programs, decoration and merchandizing projects in modern retail, street marketing and HoReCa.
