Florian Fels has been named head of the new group division Ringier Central Europe, effective February 1. Most recently, Mr. Fels was CEO and head of the management board Polska and therefore responsible for Axel Springer's business in Poland.
Ringier Central Europe is a newly created division of the group that puts operations in Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Serbia under one roof. With this, Ringier is strengthening its brands consistently and expanding them into digital multimedia platforms.
Florian Fels was CEO and head of the management board of Axel Springer Polska Sp.z.o.o., which publishes four daily newspapers and 11 magazines, operates numerous Internet portals and is one of the leading publishing companies in Poland. He has held various positions at Axel Springer since 1993 and had several positions during the course of his career. In 2005 he was appointed as CEO of the media company held by Axel Springer in Poland.

In Romania, Ringier publishes Evenimentul Zilei daily, Capital, Libertatea, Unica, Bravo, Lumea Femeilor.
