Bucharest stock market surged today, after European Union said it was considering a rescue package for Greece, while the financial investment companies sector (BSE:SIF) recouped some of yesterday’s dramatic losses, with an average gain of 4.7%.
BET index that gauges the performance of the ten most traded stocks at BSE closed 1.54% higher to 5,112.6 points, while composite BET-C gained 1.12% to 2,953.45 points.
FIC shares (BSE:SIF) that plummeted 4.9% yesterday after the Commission for Economic Policy, Reform and Privatization within the Deputy Chamber decided to oppose to the raise of equity holding limit, rallied today, with BET-FI posting 4.71% advance to 28,631.69 points.
Vienna’s ROTX gained 1.98% to 10,320.42 points.
BET-XT index of the 25 most actively traded stocks at BSE jumped 2.49% to 514.44 points, while ten energy stocks gauge BET-NG rose 1.12% to 673.11 points.
The liquidity at the Bucharest Stock Exchange dropped yesterday to 24 million lei (€5.8 million), from yesterday. Overall liquidity was buoyed today by the state securities transactions that totaled 25.3 million lei.
