Cisco Romania, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the leading networking equipment and network management supplier, has named Cristian Popescu as chief executive officer, after serving as interim CEO since July 2009.
Cristian Popescu aged 44 joined Cisco Romania in 2004 as Enterprise Account Manager. Before taking up the chief executive role, he headed the sales teams of Enterprise, Mid-Market and SMB segments.
He also contributed to the development of voice communications over IP networks.
He graduated from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest – Faculty of Electrical Engineering - and he holds a postgraduate marketing & sales degree from the Institute of Business Administration.
He succeeds Bogdan Constantinescu who left his post for chief executive role in Frontal Communication, one of the leading Romanian IT systems integration companies.
