The words on everyone’s lips in the local tech retail industry in 2008 were “loss and stagnation”. Wall-Street identified the top ten tech retailers, by their 2008 profit and sales data posted on the website of the Ministry of Finance. Despite the narrow market-wide gain, the segment reached 238 million euros, 15 million euros more than a year earlier.

10. 2Net Computer

2Net Computer, company established in 1996 by Gheorghe Tomescu, recorded sales of 3.15 million euros in the period under review.

In contrast, the retailer’s sales in 2007 stood at 4.08 million euros. Both profit and headcount remained stable.

In 2008, 2Net Computer’s profit was 123,000 euros, 3,000 euros more than a year earlier, while headcount increased by 1, to 22.
