The medium pay package in the Public Ministry, including premiums, averaged 6,004 lei/month in 2009, the institution paying 372 million lei on wages last year.

Although the Public ministry awarded its employees with fiscal incentives, their level was reduced to 138,717 lei.

The second best-paying public institution is the High Court of Cassation and Justice, where the gross salary (premiums included) averaged 8,755 lei last year.

The institution spent 50 million lei last year on wages and 14,259 lei on premiums.

1. Superior Council of Magistracy 9,771 lei/month

The Superior Council of Magistracy tops the list of best-paying Government institutions, with a gross salary that averaged 9,771 lei in 2009.

The institution didn’t award any bonuses last year, but spent around 40 million lei on employee compensation.
