TV station N24 will resort to its first layoffs, Bogdan Gamalet, Dana Maxim and Doru Braia following to be dismissed by February. The station held by National Media Center said it would overhaul its program grid, given the poor conditions in the advertising market and economic crisis.

The layoff proceedings will be carried out gradually, until February, Gabriela Grecu, press coordinator of National Media Center told Wall-Street.

“For the moment, the station has not reached any decision on cutting more jobs. Journalists at N24 will be relocated to National TV. Bogdan Gamalet will still host “Cause and Effect’” show up to December 15, while newscaster Dana Maxim, and Doru Braia were served with the termination notice by the station’s managers”, Gabriela Grecu added.

The decision was made in an effort to cut the production costs for live shows, a news channel being very expensive, according to Gabriela Grecu.
