After making the world debut in April, the two models are expected to be shipped in Romania by the end of this year.

The two models come with the new V8 turbocharged engine that develops 408kW/555 hp at 6,000 rpm engine speed and 4.395 cc cylinder capacity. The new M Twin Turbo engine is the first power unit with a common exhaust manifold for both rows of cylinders equipped with Twin Scroll Twin Turbo.

BMW X5 M and BMW X6 come with the standard intelligent xDrive Dynamic Performance Control.

Both models accelerate to 100km/h within 4.7 seconds and emerge with the maximum torque of 680 Nm available on a 1,500 – 5,650rpm engine speed range.

Both the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M feature special gill intakes in the front side panels tailored to each model as well as individually designed 20-inch light-alloy rims.

Compared to the “regular” versions of BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M, the share of black surfaces surrounding the inferior section of the bodywork is reduced on both models, hence more emphasis on road-orientation found in BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M.

Both models offer an average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle, of 13.9 liters/100km. The level of CO2 emissions stands at 325 grams per kilometer. Meanwhile, the engine meets all the requirements of LEV II standard in USA, as well as of EU5 standards in Europe.

Featured for the first time on a BMW M model, the new X5s and X6s come with a 6-speed transmission.

Both models feature standard drivetrain and suspension components that enable self-leveling rear air suspension, as well as Adaptive Drive system with electronic damping control (EDC) and active roll stabilization.

The special version of Adaptive Drive lowers the entire vehicle by 10 millimeters versus the standard BMW X5 and BMW X6 and incorporates stiffer carrier springs and damper control with reinforced connection to the body.

The special Servotronic steering provides variable speed-adjusted steering assistance enabling comfortable parking maneuvers
