Epson took a 37% market share in first quarter in terms of sales, which drove the company’s retail operations 29% up from prior-year period, but dragged it down 12% from a quarter earlier.
Thus, Epson managed to keep its leadership position in the Romanian projector market in first quarter this year.

“Even if in Romania, the projector market saw a decline at the beginning of this year in terms of sales, we are optimistic on reviving consumer interest for products destined to educational purposes as well as those within the home cinema and business lineup”, said Simona Decuseara (photo), National Sales & Marketing Manager of Epson Romania.

The great performance of the projector manufacturer reflects the growing sales of home cinema products, Epson becoming No 1 choice for film or video games addicts. The education-oriented products, delivering large images from short distances as well as projectors within the mobile lineup had a major contribution to Epson’s first quarter results.

Epson delivers a wide range of projectors, from professional and business purposes to educational purposes and home entertainment.

Epson’s sales in Romania marked a constant growth in 2008, in third quarter taking the lead of projector market, both in terms of units shipped and revenues. In 2008, Epson took a 28% market share in Romanian projector industry.

The company posted a 4.4 million euro turnover in 2008 in projectors segment, 66% up from a year earlier, FutureConsulting 2008 survey found. With 5.960 projectors sold, Epson’s sales soared 84% in 2008 compared to 2007.
