Scarce trades keep exchange rate in stagnation

The benchmark exchange rate established by the National Bank of Romania climbed insignificantly by 0.01 percent to 4.2036 lei per euro today, following a calm evolution of the national currency, which followed the regional trend, on a market with few trades, NewsIn informs.
NBR posted a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2032 lei per euro yesterday.

The national currency was traded at 4.2075 lei per euro in the early trades and slipped slightly to a maximum level of 4.2105, only to recover to 4.2 afterwards. At 1:20 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2008 lei and selling it for 4.2082 lei.

In the region, the zloty climbed from 4.38 to 4.3480 versus the euro, then lost to initial quotas and increased afterwards to 4.3670. The forint increased from 271.6 to 270 over the single European currency and then cheapened to 272.

NBR’s benchmark exchange rate also indicates a 0.69 percent drop of the leu versus the U.S. dollar to 3.0031 lei per dollar, from 2.9826 in the previous session.
