The new aircraft will take off as of June 12 and will enable the introduction of new routes from Cluj to Pisa and Cuneo.
The airline will add new flights to Bucharest-Pisa route and as of March 29, Wizz Air will launch routes to Forli Bologna.
Wizz Air said it is committed to strengthen its position in Romania, as it will announce new plans to extend flight coverage. “We are confident that the third aircraft allocated to Cluj-Napoca base will strengthen our position in the market”, said György Abrán, commercial director at Wizz Air.
In January-October period, the airline carried to and from Romania around 1.4 million passengers, 85% more than the same period of last year.
Wizz Air operates 31 routes to and from Romania and reached 230 weekly flights in September.
The company is active in Romania since July 2006 and set up the first hub in Bucharest in June 2007 and second in Cluj, in May 2008.
The third airbase was opened in Timisoara in February 2009.
