BET-FI index of the five financial investment companies (BSE:SIF) fell 1.17%, while Vienna’s ROTX declined 1.09%.
BET-XT index of the 25 most traded stocks closed 1.26% lower while BET-NG of the ten energy companies slipped 0.42%.
European stocks were suffering moderate declines at BSE’s closing, after Citigroup reported poor quarterly performance.
At the London Stock Exchange, FTSE index of the leading 100 stocks was falling 0.31% , while Germany’s DAX was edging down 0.25%. France’s CAC40 was dropping 0.31% to 3,965.13 points.
US-based Citigroup posted a $7.6 billion loss in fourth quarter due to the expenses related to its repayment of government bailout money.
FIC Oltenia (BSE:SIF5) recorded the biggest liquidity in the market, of 8 million lei, while stock prices closed 0.66% lower to 1.50 lei. FIC Moldova (BSE:SIF2) suffered a marked decline of 2.27% to 1.29 lei in a liquidity of 6.93 million lei.
In the banking sector, Banca Transilvania shares moved 1.78% lower to 2.21 lei in a liquidity of 1.81 million lei while Erste Bank (BSE:EBS) grew 0.24% to 126 lei.
Dafora Medias (BSE: DAFR) jumped 3.45% to 0.12 lei in a liquidity of 1.24 million lei.
