Property-casualty insurer AIG Romania has been renamed as Chartis Romania, the brand under which it AIG Europe operates since July 2009.
Last week, the Private Pension System Supervisory Commission (CSSPP) gave the green light to the rebranding of the company which was registered at the Trade Registry under its new name.
Concurrent with its changeover from subsidiary to branch, AIG Romania started a rebranding process planned for the beginning of the year.
According to the chief executive of the company, Mihnea Tobescu, the internal structure, products and headcount will remain intact.
AIG will thus be outside the CSSPP supervisory scope and go within ACAM, insurance watchdog in France, where Chartis Europe is based.
AIG Romania reported €20 million in Q1-Q3 2009 and has a market share of 1.3% according to Insurance Profile estimates.
