The Ministry of Economy said it would soon begin valuation and the required disclosure documents for the listing of 10-15% equity of national gas company Romgaz at the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
“The listing will also resuscitate the Bucharest Stock Exchange. After the establishment of two large energy companies when we will have had a six-month history of the two companies, we will list their shares on BSE”, said the minister of economy, Adriean Videanu.
The listing of Romgaz at BSE goes back to several years ago, and the plan was included in the country’s energy strategy.
Romgaz and OMV Petrom secure around two thirds of the annual natural gas production of Romania.
The majority shareholder is the Ministry of Economy with 85.01%, while Fondul Proprietatea holds 14.99%.
