Cadillac: 16 units

Cadillac sold this year 16 cars in Romania, 56% fewer than 36 units in the same period of last year.

The best month for the US-based car brand has been February, when it sold 3 units, and last year was June and September with 6 units each.

Cadillac’s top selling models in Romania were CTS and Escalade.

Infiniti: 22 units

Romanian car drivers bought 22 Infiniti cars in the first eleven months this year, 53% fewer than Jan-Nov 2008.

Last year, 47 Infiniti cars were registered in Romania.

Sales of Infiniti peaked in March and August, when the car maker sold 5 units. The best month in sales a year earlier was July, when 7 cars were sold.

The Japanese-based car brand is available in Romania through Autoitalia Group dealership.

Jaguar: 50 units

The biggest decline in new luxury car registrations was observed at Jaguar, with up to 75% fewer cars sold in Jan-Nov year-on-year.

In Romania, 50 Jaguar cars were registered year-to-date, compared to 203 units in the same period of last year.

Jaguar sales peaked in July this year, when the car maker delivered 10 units and August last year, when it sold 33 cars.

The best-selling Jaguar models in Romania are XF and X-Type.

Lexus: 92 units

The Japanese-based car maker sold 59% fewer cars in Romania year-to-date to 92, from 233 cars a year earlier.

Lexus 2009 sales peaked in March with 17 units, while a year earlier the biggest sales were registered in September - 35 cars.

The top-selling brands of Lexus in Romania are the RX SUV and IS sedan.

Lexus launched this year the new generation of the hybrid SUV RX450H and the convertible IS250C.

Porsche: 95 units

Porsche’s sales in Romania fell 59% in the eleven months through November, from 231 in Jan-Nov 3008 to 95.

The peak month for sales this year was May when Porsche delivered 13 cars, while last year in June, the car maker sold 27 units.

Porsche’s top-selling brands in Romania are Cayenne 911 and Carrera.

Land Rover: 294 units

Suffering a 65% decline in sales year-on-year, Land Rover reported 294 units sold from January to November this year.

Land Rover retained its last year position as the fourth best selling car brand in Romania.

The peak month for Jaguar this year was March, when it sold 53 cars, and last year was January when it delivered 121 units.

Land Rover’s best selling brands in Romania are Land Rover Freelander 2 and Range Rover Sport.

BMW: 1,129 units

BMW lost the second spot to rival Audi, and was ranked third best-selling luxury car in Romania.

In the first eleven months last year, BMW was second at narrow margin from Audi (28 units).

In January-November, BMW sold 63% fewer cars this year from 3,059 a year earlier to 1,129 units.

BMW’s sales in Romania peaked in March with 160 units sold. Last year, the best month for BMW was January when it delivered 388 cars.

BMW’s top-selling brands in Romania are X5 and 3-series.

Audi: 1,346 units

Audi takes up the second spot in top-selling luxury brands ranking in Romania, with 1,364 units sold from January to November.

Compared to year-ago sales (3,031), Audi showed a 55% decline.

Peak month for the German-based carmaker was January when it sold 159 cars while last year was March when it delivered 342 units.

Audi’s top-selling brands in Romania this year were A4 and Q5.

Mercedes-Benz: 1,412 units

This year’s best-selling luxury car is Mercedes-Benz, after reporting 1,142 cars sold year-to-date 57% fewer than 3,307 a year earlier.

Mercedes-Benz sales peaked in March this year, when it sold 322 cars. Last year, the biggest sales were reported in June – 399 units.

Mercedes-Benz’ top-selling models in Romania are E Classe and C Classe.
