Used car market has remained weak this year, with 6.4% drop in the first two months. 22,354 vehicles have been sold in 2010 compared to 23,893 in Jan-Feb 2009.

BMW - 1,215 cars

In the first two months, BMW sold 1,215 used cars in Romania.

BMW registrations fell 32% year-to-date, from 1,785 in the same period of last year.

In February 2010, 547 BMW cars were registered down 58% from the same month of 2009 (1,292 registrations).

Audi � 1,486 cars

Audi sold 1,486 used cars in Romania in the first two months.

Audi car registrations dropped 11% year-to-date, versus 1,669 in the same period of last year.

In the trailing month, 719 used Audi cars were registered in Romania, 45% down from February 2009 (1,313).

Ford � 2,225 cars

In the Jan-Feb period, 2,252 Romanians bought used Ford cars.

Audi car registrations decreased by 11% year-to-date, against 2,527 in the same period of last year.

Ford sold 1,024 used cars in February in Romania, down 46% year over year.

Opel � 5,550 cars

The German carmaker Opel sold 5,550 used cars in Romania in the first two months.

The demand for used Opel cars fell 9% this year, from 5,037 in the same period of last year.

In February 2010, 2,564 used Opel vehicles were registered, down 34% from 3,881 a year earlier.

Volkswagen � 6,246 cars

After the first two months, Volkswagen retains is spot as the best selling secondhand car brand, with 6,246 units sold year-to-date.

The number of registrations of VW cars declined 14% in Jan-Feb period, from 7,264 in the same period of last year.

In February 2010, 2,934 used VW cars were registered, down 48% from year-ago period (5,638 units).

Used car registrations dropped 29% in 2009, from 300,885 in 2008 to 212,910.
