Opel Astra January

The tenth generation of Opel Astra, available for orders from end-2009, has made is official debut in Romania for prices ranging between €14,250 and €22,500.

The new Astra is available with eight Euro 5 emission-compliant engine choices. All except the lowest powered units are equipped with six-speed transmission.

The CDTI turbo diesel line-up includes four common-rail, multiple injection units from 1.3 to 2.0 liter with outputs ranging from 95 HP to 160 HP. All are equipped with diesel particulate filters.

The four gasoline engines with 1.4 and 1.6 liter give a power bandwidth from 100 HP to 180 HP. A new, downsized 103 kW/140 hp 1.4 Turbo replaces the current naturally-aspirated 1.8.

BMW X5 February

In February this year, the German BMW rolled out in Romania its X5 facelift, priced at €54,400 (VAT included).

The petrol lineup includes X5 xDrive35i 306 HP, X5 xDrive50i 407 HP, while the diesel range includes X5 xDrive30d 245 HP and X5 xDrive40d 306 HP. All engines are Euro5 emission compliant.

The new BMW X5 comes with an eight-speed transmission as standard.

The interior of the new BMW X5 is fitted as standard with five seats with an optional third row of seats making room for 7 passengers.

In a standard five-seat configuration the boot measures 620 litres, and can be extended to 1,750 litres with all the rear seats stowed. With all seven seats in place there is still 200 litres of boot space.

The metallic colors are Deep Sea Blue, Platinum Grey and Sparkling Bronze.

Mercedes-Benz E-class cabriolet March

Mercedes-Benz Romania, the official dealer of the German car brand in Romania, launched in Romania in the first quarter 2010 the new E-class Cabriolet, for which prices start from €46,400 (VAT included).

The top can be opened and closed fully automatically within 20 seconds – even when driving at speeds of 40km/h.The cabriolet roof is stowed in a special compartment behind the rear panel.

The line-up of the drive units include the E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY 170 HP (€48,300), E 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY 204 HP (€50,500), E 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY 231 HP (€55,300), E 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY 184 HP (€46.400), E 250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY 204 HP (€50,500), E 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY 292 HP (€57,600), E 500 388 HP (€72,500).

All of the powerplants meet the requirements of the EU 5 standard, whose limits are up to 80 percent more stringent than those specified by previous standards.

The entry-level model, the E 200 CGI comes with an automatic transmission fitted as standard. The boot capacity is 300 liters when roof stowed, and 390 litres when roof closed.

Nissan Qashqai+2 March

The new Nissan Qashqai and Qashqai+2 are available in the Romanian market for a starting price €2,000 lower.

The new Qashqai has a starting price of €16,990 for the Visia 1.6 115 HP trim level. Qashqai+2 costs €18,990.

The lineup includes two body versions, Qashqai+2 being the long-wheel-base version of Nissan’s compact crossover, with seven seats and larger boot capacity.

The 2WD is available in all the four engine options, two petrol and two diesel choices: 1.6 115 HP; 2.0 140 HP; 1.5 dCi 105 HP and 2.0 dCi 150 CP.

The all-mode 4x4i chassis version is available for the 2.0 140 HP and 2.0 dCi 150 HP.

The automatic transmission is available on both 2.0 140 HP (CVT) and 2.0 dCi 150 HP (6 speed), as well as on the 2WD and 4WD petrol versions.

Citroen C3 March

Citroen launched in March this year in Romania, at a starting price of €10,890.

The top version of Citroen C3 has a starting price of €17,090.

Citroen C3 comes in a choice of three trim levels, City, Comfort and Exclusive.

The new C3 offers a choice of four petrol power-plants: 1.1 litres 61 HP, 1.4 litres 75 HP, 1.4 litres 95 HP and 1.6 litres 120 HP. All are Euro 5 compliant.

All engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, apart from the 1.6HDi 16V 110hp, which has a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.6 VTi 120hp is offered with a choice of either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmissions.

BMW 3 series coupe and cabrio March

The new BMW 3 series Coupe and Cabrio made way to Romanian showrooms in March.

The line-up’s performance leaders are TwinPower Turbo 306 HP, High Precision Injection and Valvetronic variable intake technology.

The Coupe 306HP version accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.5 seconds and the cabriolet version in 5.8 seconds.

The consumption, according to the EU testing cycle, came in at 8.4 litres/ 100 km or 196g CO2 per km for Coupe, and 8.8 litres/ 100 km or 205g for Cabriolet respectively.

The two models feature two diesel power units 325d 204 HP and 320d.

Skoda Superb Combi March

Porsche Romania, the official dealer of Skoda in Romania launched in March the new Skoda Superb Combi, available at a starting price of €18,281 for the 1.4 litre 125 HP version.

The car comes in a choice of three petrol engines (1.4 TSI 125 HP; 1.8 TSI 160 HP; 3.6 FSI V6 260 HP) and three diesel engines (1.9 TDI PD 105 HP; 2.0 TDI PD DPF 140 HP; 2.0 TDI CR DPF 170 HP). All engines come with direct fuel injections and low consumption and emission. Haldex multi-disc clutch will be available across all 4WD range.

Chevrolet Spark March

Chevrolet launched in March this year, the new Spark, available for €7,000.

The Spark is available with two petrol engines, a 1.0-litre with 68hp, and a 1.2-litre with 81hp.

Both versions feature multi-port fuel injection, Euro 5 compliant engines, and six-speed manual gearbox.

Spark consumes 5.1 litres/100 km and releases 119g CO2 every kilometer.

BMW 5 Series March

The new BMW 5 Series sedan made its debut in the Romanian market in March this year, only few days after Geneva auto show world premiere.

The sixth generation of BMW 5 Series, designed by Frohlich Jacek, was launched at a starting price of €42,661 for the petrol 3.0 litre 204 HP.

The most expensive model in the lineup is the petrol 4.4litre 407 HP version which is priced at €71,400.

The diesel 3.0 litre 204 HP version comes with a price tag of €45,375 while the diesel 3.0 litre 245 HP costs €50,090.

The six-cylinder in-line engine is fitted with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, High Precision Injection and VALVETRONIC from the BMW 535i and will put out 306 HP, while the other six-cylinder in-line engines also equipped with High Precision Injection develop up to 258 HP.

BMW 550i will be equipped with an eight-cylinder engine, BMW TwinPower Turbo and High Precision Injection with a maximum output of 407 HP.

Dacia Duster March

Dacia Duster is available in Romania at a base price of €10,500 (VAT included) in the 4X2 version and €12,300 (VAT included) for the 4X4 version.

The car is available in three equipment levels: Duster, Ambiance and Laureate. The price for the 4X4 Laureate version is €15,600.

Both the 4x2 and 4x4 versions of Dacia Duster will be available with either a 1.6 16V 110hp petrol engine or with 85 dCi or 105 dCi diesel power.
