Romanians choose to buy cars for cash



Most Romanians who buy new cars choose to do it for cash, so that in first nine months, 67% of import cars were bought for cash or in installment system (102,796 units) and only 33% in leasing system (51,637 units).

Best selling cars in leasing system are Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep, while the worst selling cars in leasing system are BMW, Mini, Peugeot and Hyundai with approximately 100% sales in installment and for cash, according to dates compiled by Association of Car Producers and Importers (APIA).

BMW sold all cars for cash and on installment basis in first nine months (1,903 units), Audi sold 64% cars for cash and on installment system (1,438 units) and 36% in leasing (814 units) while Mercedes Benz sold 63% cars for cash and installment (1,438 units) and 37% in leasing system (841 units).

As for Maserati, the share is 64% for cash and installment (18 units), and at Porsche, the share drops to 49%.

Volkswagen, Skoda, Renault, Ford, Seat, Nissan, Chevrolet, Kia, Mazda, Subaru and Toyota brands registered 60% of the sold units for cash and in installment system.

In first nine months, Dacia sold 83% cars for cash and on installment basis (51,547 units) and 17% in leasing (10.313 units).
