SkyEurope's strategy with MyAir for Romania

The partnership of the two low-cost airline companies SkyEurope and MyAir forecasts it will exceed 1 million passengers in Romania within one year, said managing director of MyAir in Romania, Antonio Iervolino.

“The partnership recently closed between SkyEurope and MyAir is active in a very important market for Romania. We intend on developing on the Romanian market and to implement new routes. Moreover, we consider setting up a local company by yearend, the shareholders structure following to include MyAir (Italy) and a new Romanian airline company, MyAir Romania”, said Iervolino.

According to representatives of the two companies, the financial economic crisis had a major role in creating this partnership, considering that the two companies will be forced to cut costs to cope with the crisis. President of SkyEurope, Jason Bitter outlined that this partnership will shrink costs by 25%.

Furthermore, representatives of the two companies stressed that the passengers would have the opportunity of finding a wider array of destinations and flights.

Sky Europe is operating 14 flights a week on Bucharest-Vienna route, and MyAir operates 40 flights weekly to Milan, Venice, Bologna, Rome, Napoli, Catania, Bari and Paris.
