Romanian carmakers outsource production lines to Serbia
Approximately 20 companies in Romania and Bulgaria active in the car industry consider outsourcing their production line to Serbia, said Vesna Peric, the head of the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency, Novinite informs.
Some of the companies that consider outsourcing manufacturing lines are car batteries producers.
The only car batteries producer in the Romanian market is Rombat, that announced recently it pumped 7 million euros in the local market, investment plan that is scheduled to complete by yearend.
According to Peric, the reason why companies in Romania and Bulgaria are considering offshoring production lines is the current global economic crisis.
Serbian newswires mentioned that several companies have postponed outsourcing plans as a result of the striking economic crisis.
