11,000 Dacia employees will take 17-days temporary layoff



Mioveni-based Dacia plant announced it idled production this morning until December 7, and 11,000 workers of 14,000 will take a 17-days temporary layoff.

According to estimations of Automobile Dacia’s trade union vice leader, Ion Iordache, nearly 3,000 employees will carry on their regular activity, while CKD’s activity will not undergo any change, NewsIn informs.

Employees of car parts suppliers of Dacia plant in Mioveni will also take temporary layoffs, namely companies Leoni Mioveni, Leoni Pitesti, Johnson Control, Euro APS, Cortubi, Metal Impex, Maxiro, Piroux SRL, Matrice Dacia, Presate Dacia, Eurest SRL, and A.S.I.

According to the leader of Automobile Dacia’s trade union, which represents also the employees of the aforementioned suppliers, nearly 2,000 employees will take temporary layoffs. The workers will be paid in terms of the provisions set forth by the employment contract negotiated with each of the companies, the pay packages ranging between 75% and 85% of their regular pay.

Dacia board announced two weeks ago it will halt activity for November 20 – December 7 interval due to sharp downdraft of the car markets, the workers will receive 85% of their regular pre-tax salary.
