Automotive supplier Drxlmaier idles production facilities in Romania
“The fiercer competition in the field calls for a permanent optimization of structures. The company conducted major investments in an effort to keep jobs in Romania for a long term. The economic events that shook up the entire world in the past weeks and months require for extra efforts to ensure our future”, said Dräxlmaier officials.
In order to compensate reduced loading of production capacities, the company has established extended vacation for employees at Romanian production units.
The activity at Codlea-based manufacturing facility will be halted between December 15 , 2008 and January 4, 2009 while Hunedoara-based factory will shut down activity between December 6 and January 12.
The automotive supplier will idle activity at Pitesti-based unit between December 20 and January 7, at Satu Mare, between December 20 and January 11, and at Timisoara-based unit between December 9 and January 8.
