Radacini Motors delivers Cadillac Escalade Hybrid in Romania



Radacini Motors, importer of Cadillac, Corvette and Hummer in Romanian car industry said it would bring the new Cadillac Escalade Hybrid next year in Romania, at a price below 70,000 euros (does not include VAT).

“Next year, we will have a highly appreciated model in America, the new Cadillac Escalade Hybrid, the pricing starting in the low-to-mid 60,000 euros range, without VAT. The new full-size hybrid SUV is expected to arrive in June 2009”, CEO of Cadillac, Corvette, Hummer within Radacini Motors, Catalin Bratu told Wall-Street.

Escalade Hybrid has a V8 6.0 liters motor, being the only eight-seat premium full-size SUV equipped with hybrid system.

Powered by the new fuel saving hybrid system, the new Escalade Hybrid consumes no more than 13 liters/100 km in city driving, versus 19 liters/100 km consumption of the standard version.

Cadillac Escalade Hybrid will be available both in 2WD and 4WD configurations. The new hybrid car will be rated to tow up to 2,722kg for rear-wheel drive and 2,565 kg for four-wheel drive.

The motor also includes an Active Fuel Management system (AFM) and Late-Intake Valve Closing (LIVC) technology, together with a nickel-based battery pack and internal electric technology endowed with start-stop system.

Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is manufactured in Michigan, US, since 2008’s fall, and the price gap compared to standard version mounts to roughly 4,000 US dollars.

The new interior of the Cadillac incorporates new instrument panel, lit by white and orange-LED backlighting, together with two color versions of its leather-covered seats and door trim.

At this point, General Motors delivers two other hybrid cars in the US market, namely Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Malibu sedan.

Radacini Motors is distributing the three premium brands of General Motors since October 2007 and reported 2 million euros sales, delivering 60 cars, 32 Cadillac, 31 Hummer, and 5 Corvette.
