December revenues for state budget dropped 11.6%



State-budget revenues dropped by 11.56% in the first 30 days of December 2008, while revenues for local budgets slid 14%, according to the data made public by Ministry of Finance on Friday. The review found a positive evolution in social insurances, unemployment and health segments.

Thus, revenues of the state budget equated 6.06 billion lei in December 1-30, versus 6.85 billion lei in previous year, while the local budgets accounted for 464 million lei revenues, according to the report remitted by Ministry of Finance.

Revenues for budget fund of social health insurances, social state insurance and unemployment insurance advanced by 45.8%, up to 5.68 billion lei, which led to a 8.14% increase in total revenues for consolidated budget compared to December 2007, up to 12.21 billion lei.

Minister of Finance, Gheorghe Pogea, said that budget revenues, including extra-budgetary revenues had amounted to 31.6% of gross domestic product, below the government’s projection of 36% of GDP.
