Head of Erste Bank: Claims of BCR trade union are far from reality

The claims expressed by Banca Comerciala Romana trade union “are far from reality”, Erste Bank thus supporting the position of BCR management in this problem, said Andreas Treichl, CEO of Erste Bank and chairman of BCR Supervisory Board.

“We are fully supporting the position adopted by BCR management in negotiations and we find the claims expressed by BCR trade union are far from reality, given the current economic conditions”, said Traichle, quoted by NewsIn.

BCR Independent Trade Union Federation (FSI) notified today BCR management that it has asked its members to take an industrial action on unlimited term starting on Wednesday 14.01.2009, at 09.00 a.m, on pay claims.

BCR said that “probably not all the branches would be in position to service their customers” The decision of FSI supervenes in the context in which the BCR CLA expired at the end of last year. In mid August 2008, BCR employees started a three-day strike.

FSI representatives requested at conciliation that the terms of the 2008 CLA are maintained, with some amendments previously agreed upon with BCR management, as well as an additional increase of salaries by 3% on top of the increase representing 50% of the inflation rate in 2008.
