Porsche Romania holds 20% of the car industry, with 53.955 cars sold in 2008

Porsche Romania, importer of Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche, Seat, Skoda, and Volkswagen holds 20% of the car market, with 53.955 cars sold last year, down 8% from a year earlier.

The company, who sold over 250,000 cars in the past ten years, has over 4,600 employees in its 96 dealer units across the country.

In 2008, the approximately 54,000 clients of the number one dealer in Romania preferred Skoda Octavia (9,332), Volkswagen Golf (4,508), SEAT Ibiza (1,477), Audi A4 (1253) and Porsche Cayenne (81).

Car parts volume jumped 22% from a year ago, and by 40 times compared to 1998, the starting year for the car dealer.

The best sold car in 2008 was Skoda, with 23,189 units delivered. In 2008 the deliveries of car division and commercial vehicles division of Volkswagen stood at 23,887 in Romania. Seat model ranks third in terms of deliveries, with 3,903, followed by Audi with 2,856 units delivered and Porsche sportster with 118 cars.
