The leu takes a downturn after a short rally
The benchmark currency exchange rate set by National Bank of Romania indicate a roughly 1.01% decline of the local currency, down to 4.2775 lei/euro, after five bullish successive sessions, on a generally rising markets in the region.
National Bank of Romania posted on Thursday a currency exchange rate of 4.2314 lei/euro, down to 4.2340 lei/euro on Tuesday.
Last week, the exchange rate has repeatedly hit record highs against euros, which wound up on January 22, with 4.3127 lei against the single European currency.
