Bucharest West logistic park gets major new tenant

Greek freight forwarder and logistic provider in Greece (Orphee Beinoglou International Transports) leased a 6,600 sqm warehouse space in Bucharest West logistic park developed by Portland Trust.

The 70 hectares Bucharest West is situated on A1 at 14 Km West from the city center. Portland Trust, developer of office projects Opera Center and Bucharest Business Park, will deliver another office building, Florescu Plaza (Floreasca 169) this spring, which is already 95% occupied.

“In the current market conditions, a company who intends to leasing a storage space must understand the importance of looking for a warehouse space with 6-9 months before the actual relocation. This is becoming extremely important in 2009, when most projects will no longer develop speculative buildings, while others will stop due to financing problems", explained Viorel Opait, Senior Industrial Consultant within Colliers International.

During the second half of 2008, he added, the vacancy rates remained close to null, as few space has been delivered in this period. However, this is unlikely to have a big impact on rents.
The Greek operator O.R.B.I.T International Transports offers a wide array of services, from logistics to distribution, office removals, storage services and relocation management.

Colliers International is one of the world's largest real estate advisers, with 293 offices in 61 countries. In Central and Eastern Europe, the company provides services in Romania, Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro.
