Prunea, Broker Cluj: We are waiting for the approval of RNSE to resume trading



The activity of brokerage firm Broker Cluj may be resumed on Monday, as the two-week suspension by the Romanian National Securities Commission expired today.

After the suspension of the trading permit, Broker Cluj stocks (symbol: BRK) listed at Bucharest Stock Exchange were removed from trading, following to reenter in the trading arena when the activity of the brokerage firm is resumed.

“As of Monday, the trading of Broker Cluj stocks at BSE could be resumed, as the two-week suspension by the Romanian National Securities Commission expired. However, CNVM didn’t give any notice so far”, Petru Prunea (photo), chairman of Broker Cluj told Wall-Street.

He added that the losses triggered by the halt of activity amounted to about 14,000 lei.

Prunea said he didn’t determined the total amount of the fraud at Deva branch, as the enquiry was still in progress, adding that the clients will receive compensations as the “court decides”.

According to latest information, 80 victims in Hunedoara county filed criminal complaints against the director of Deva-based subsidiary of Broker Cluj, Adriana Constantin, the plaintiffs claiming a 4 million lei damage.
