Leu strengthens against euro, amid generally declining markets in the region



The benchmark currency exchange rates posted by BNR on Wednesday shows a roughly 0.34% hike of the national currency, up to 4.2950 lei/euro, after swinging between 4.28 and 4.2950 lei/euro in early trades, amid generally rising emerging markets in the region.
National Bank of Romania posted on Tuesday a currency exchange rate of 4.3096 lei/euro, down from 4.3119 lei/euro a day earlier.

In first month of this year, the local currency hit repeatedly record highs, with its peak in January 22, of 4.3127 lei/euro.
