Unilever acquires Napoca brand, makes way to ice cream market
“As part of the growth strategy in South Central Europe, Unilever announced its first step in Romanian ice cream market”, reads a press release of the company.
The deal is pending Competition Council approval and will be completed within four months. Unilever products will be marketed in stores starting March.
The acquisition of “Napoca” brand, Alexandra Gatej said, was concluded as a result of the rising demand in the ice cream market, and represents a long-term investment.
Unilever South Central Europe started its activity in Romania since 1995, and produces and manages national and international brands in food, home care and personal products.
The company’s portfolio includes margarines (Rama, Becel and Delma), Knorr soups and sauces, Lipton tea, personal care (Dove) and home cleaning products (Cif and Domestos).
