MOL Romania reports 12 million net profit in 2008

MOL Romania, the unit of Hungary's biggest refinery MOL Nyrt, recorded a net profit of 12 million euros last year, following a higher turnover, according to the company's GM, Zsolt Szalay (photo), cited by NewsIn.

The company saw turnover up 11 percent year-on-year in 2008 to 590 million euros, on higher sales. It pumped 30 percent more money last year over the previous to develop the unit network.

MOL Romania plans to develop its network this year by upgrading the gas stations, as well as by improving and expanding the services offered.

The company now operates 132 gas stations, nine of them opened in 2008.

MOL is a retail oil company headquartered in Budapest. It counts some 15,000 employees in Europe, Middle East and Africa and runs three refineries in Hungary, Slovakia and Italy. The company has about 1,000 gas stations in Central and Southeastern Europe.
