Romanian leu rises to 4.29 versus the euro in early trades



Romania's national currency, the leu, waved between 4.29 and 4.30 versus the single European currency this morning, showing a slight increasing trend, in tune with the emergent currencies in the region, NewsIn informs.

Banks were buying a euro with 4.2910 lei and selling it for 4.2960 lei at 10:30 a.m.

In the region, the neighbor currencies advanced significantly today. The Hungarian forint upped from 308.55 to 306.68 versus the euro and the Polish zloty hiked from 4.7928 to 4.7160.

On international markets, the U.S. dollar dipped from 1.2459 to 1.2565 against the European currency and at 10:35 a.m. Romania's hour, the euro was traded for 1.2530 dollars.
