The exchange rate climbs to 4.28 lei per euro after short momentum of leu in early trades

The national currency resumed the downturn and approached the 4.28 quota against the single European currency, on a more hazy market than during previous days, after a brief climb at opening call, on regional trend, NewsIn informs.

The euro stood this morning at 4.2870 lei but after the rate inched down to 4.2690 lei per euro, the leu started to descend. At 10:55 a.m., banks were buying a euro for 4.2785 lei and selling it for 4.2835 lei.

“The market is rougher than before, the emergent currencies are acting independently from one another although there are significant, if not regular, influences,” declared Florin Bota, dealer with Banca Transilvania.

The Polish zloty rose from 4.6780 to 4.6465 versus the euro, only to decrease to 4.6580 per euro, while the Hungarian forint strengthened from 307.5 to 306.1 per euro and whithered to 308.4 per euro.
