Societe Generale buys BRD stocks of 78,700 euros

The trade was concluded at an average price of 4.41 lei/share, up 3.86% from Friday’s closing quotation.

BRD SocGen has a share capital of 696.6 mln lei, divided to 696.9 mln shares at a nominal value of 1 leu. The bank’s capitalization is at 3.1 bln lei (722 mln euros), according to Friday’s closing quotation of 4.25 lei/share.

BRD SocGen, Romania’s biggest lender in terms of assets, reported an annual net profit of 1.353 bln lei for 2008, up 48% from prior year. Excluding the amount from the sale of stake in Asiban, the profit’s growth hovers around 23%.
