Romanian leu edges down over the euro for the fourth successive day



The reference exchange rate announced today by BNR rose to 4.2948 lei per euro after the national currency slipped 0.02 percent from the previous session, on a calm market, where other regional currencies declined versus the euro too.
BNR indicated an exchange rate of 4.2939 lei per euro yesterday.

The leu lowered slightly in the first part of today's session, from 4.2860 to 4.3005 versus the euro and at 1:35 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2950 lei and selling it for 4.30 lei.

In the region, the Polish zloty floated between 4.49 and 4.5477 versus the euro, while the Hungarian forint dropped from 297.10 to 300 over the single European currency, and then recovered to 297.75.
