Solutions to reduce the unemployment rate: agriculture and tourism

Romanian labor force can still find vacant jobs in agriculture, tourism, environment, and SMEs, enough to cap the number of unemployed below 800,000, said the state secretary of Ministry of Labor, Dumitru Cornoiu.
“The minister announced yesterday an alarming increase in unemployment, but we are ready to avoid that. There are still enough vacant jobs in agriculture, tourism, environment and SMEs. These fields could provide a development framework for activities that were neglected so far”, said Cornoiu.

He added that many Romanian workers in Italy, Spain and Cyprus, who had worked in agriculture and constructions, were likely to come back in the country this year.

“I don’t think there is anything wrong with this. They will come back with the expertise and qualification gained abroad”, the representative of the Ministry stated.
