Air France-KLM completes acquisition of 25% minority stake in Alitalia
Air-France KLM airline has completed the acquisition of 25% minority stake in Alitalia carrier, underwriting a reserved capital increase of roughly 323 million euros.
This agreement will pave the way to a broader presence in Italian market for Air France-KLM, given that Alitalia airline has strengthened its domestic market via the acquisition of Air One.
Furthermore, this agreement will link Alitalia to the largest airline global network, by offering to passengers access to a solid network that links Europe to the rest of the world, structured around a unique combination of hubs from North to Southern Europe.
The Air France-KLM Group will have three seats out of a total 19 on Alitalia’s Board of Directors and two seats out of a total 9 making up the Executive Committee.
A partnership manager” responsible for implementing the partnership strategy and overseeing the generation of synergies will be appointed for a term of three years, renewable once, and will be appointed on a rotating basis by the two groups.
