IMF rescue package sparks leus rally

Investors regained a positive feeling since Romanian authorities clinched the accord with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and this mirrored into the leu’s growth to 4.2723 over the euro at the central bank’s BNR reference exchange rate, NewsIn informs.
BNR’s rate pinned the leu yesterday at 4.2838 against the single European currency. In January this year the leu slipped to the lowest level of 4.3127 against the euro.

The exchange rate will sway from 4.20 to 4.30 over the common currency in Europe as the leu will be supported by BNR, analysts of the financial group Citi said in a report released today.
