Insurer Asirom sees a 10% increase in business pumped by non-auto general policies

Asirom estimates a 10 percent rise in the gross premiums written volume this year versus 2008, the advance to be seen mostly on the house and industrial property insurance policies, declared the company's sales director Catalin Stroe, cited by NewsIn.
Last year Asirom saw a turnover of 748.4 million lei, 19 percent up versus 2007 and was the third largest insurer in Romania with 8.43 percent of the market, according to the market watchdog CSA.

The Casco segment is expected to keep a flat line this year, while the civil liability policies could rise in volume.

The general insurance market calculated in lei will advance by 15 percent the most this year following problems on the car market, but the auto sector will remain the core growth engine behind the insurance market, according to some representatives of companies in the field.
