Top mutual funds in first quarter

In March, the stocks traded at the local stock exchange have fared better, as well as the local currency, which stirred up the investors’ interest on mutual funds that collectively passed the 1 bln lei mark, Romanian Association of Asset Managers’ statistical report found.
The top performer in first quarter was BCR Asset Management with 488.8 mln lei assets under management and 45.5% market share.

BRD Asset Management remained on second position in first quarter, with 131.3 mln lei assets under management and 12.2% market share.

Raiffeisen Asset Management attracted assets worth 115.1 million lei and owns 10.7% of the market, followed by EFG Mutual Funds Romania with 68 mln lei assets under management and 6.3% market share.

The asset management division of Banca Transilvania, BT AM lags on no5 spot managing 57.6 mln lei assets and 6.3% share.

Money-market funds, on top of investors’ preferences in Q1

In first quarter, the number of investors in mutual funds climbed by more than 8%, while the value of net underwritings exceeded 33.5 bln euro mark, of which 75% being attracted by money-market funds. Assets attracted by mutual funds amounted to 1.073 bln lei in Q1.
