The reference exchange rate edges down to 4.2426 lei/euro



The reference exchange rate established by the central lender BNR slipped to 4.2426 lei per euro today, after the leu inched 0.01 percent over the previous session, on a calm market, with small transactions, where the national currency stabilized around 4.24, NewsIn informs.
BNR posted a reference exchange rate of 4.2430 lei per euro yesterday, the past three-week peak.

The national currency was traded for 4.23 lei per euro at opening bell, then lost to 4.2450 and stabilized at 4.24 afterwards. Banks were buying an euro with 4.2390 lei and selling it for 4.2460 lei at 1:10 p.m.

In Poland, the zloty fell from 4.3850 to 4.42 over the single European currency, while in Hungary the forint dipped from 297.3 to 299.7 versus the euro and soared to 297.50 afterwards.

BNR's reference exchange rate also indicates a 0.07 percent slip of the national currency versus the U.S. dollar, to 3.2769 lei per dollar, from 3.2747 in the previous session.
